Jennie Swanson Cerrati practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, domestic relations and collections. Jennie devotes a small portion of her practice to drafting basic wills and powers of attorney. Jennie was admitted to the California Bar in 2006 and the South Carolina Bar in 2009. A native of Louisiana, Jennie relocated from California to Hilton Head in 2008 with her husband. Prior to relocating to South Carolina with her husband in 2008, Jennie practiced family law in Los Angeles in which she successfully handled high conflict and complex cases from inception through conclusion involving all aspects of family law, including child custody, support, property, other complex financial issues. While practicing in California, Jennie was chosen as a “Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star” for 2008 (for attorneys 40 years old and younger). Prior to joining Laughlin & Bowen in 2010, Jennie practiced with the law firm, Tupper, Grimsley, & Dean in Beaufort, South Carolina during which time she handled domestic relations cases, civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
Jennie is a member of the Board of Directors for Lowcountry Legal Volunteers (formerly Low Country Legal Aid). She is also a member of the following Bar Associations: Beaufort County Bar Association, Hilton Head Island Bar Association, California Bar Association, American Bar Association and the South Carolina Women Lawyer’s Association.
Jennie and her husband, Mike, reside on Hilton Head with their young son, Jack.
